And El-Strives has loved He-Adds from the whole of his builders, for a builder of old-ones1163 is himself to-himself. And he has made to-himself a tunic of soles.1164

LITV Translation:
And Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was a son of old age to him. And he made a tunic reaching to the soles of his feet.
ESV Translation:
Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a robe of many colors.
Brenton Septuagint Translation:
And Jacob loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was to him the son of old age; and he made for him a coat of many colors.

Strong’s #2208, Zequnim. Old ones. Properly, plural passive participle of zaqen which means to be old. “Old age”, as translators have always rendered it, is an interpretation and ignores the plural attribute.

Strong’s #6446, passim. Plural word for palms or soles. From pacac; properly, the palm (of the hand) or sole (of the foot) (compare pac); by implication (plural) a long and sleeved tunic (perhaps simply a wide one; from the original sense of the root. This never meant “various colors”. See Gesenius.
