Genesis 29:35

וַ תַּהַר עֹוד וַ תֵּלֶד בֵּן וַ תֹּאמֶר הַ פַּעַם אֹודֶה אֶת יְהוָה עַל כֵּן קָרְאָה שְׁמֹו יְהוּדָה וַ תַּעֲמֹד מִ לֶּדֶת
And she is conceiving again, and is bearing a builder, and is saying, `The Footstep,960 I am casting/founding961 אֶת-Yahweh.` Upon an upright she has called-out his name Cast-One.962 And she is setting-upright from bearing.

Yehuda (Judah) and comes from the root yadah (#3034) that means (as denominative from yad) literally, to use the hand (i.e. hold out); physically, lay a foundation, or to throw, cast (a stone, an arrow) at or away. “Praise” is a a subjective interpretation and correlates to "praising motions" of the hand and might be confused with halal (#1984) to shine (praise) and tehillah (#8416) a praise.
