Genesis 2:21

וַ יַּפֵּל יְהוָה אֶלֹהִים תַּרְדֵּמָה עַל הָ אָדָם וַ יִּישָׁן וַ יִּקַּח אַחַת מִ צַּלְעֹתָיו וַ יִּסְגֹּר בָּשָׂר תַּחְתֶּנָּה
And Yahweh elohim is causing to fall a dead-sleep96 upon the Red-one, and he is sleeping, and he is taking one of his ribs,97 and is shutting up flesh underneath her.98

Strong’s #8639, tardemah. A dead, unconscious sleep. Used to describe a heavy lethargy or trance like state, not physical rest or sleep. “Sloth causeth deep sleep to fall” Proverbs 19:15. “For Yahweh has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep, And He closeth your eyes -- the prophets, And your heads -- the seers -- He covered.” Isaiah 29:13. It is figurative for death, which covers like a shadow.
