Genesis 16:10
וַ יֹּאמֶר לָהּ מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה הַרְבָּה אַרְבֶּה אֶת זַרְעֵךְ וְ לֹא יִסָּפֵר מֵ רֹב
And a messenger of Yahweh is saying to her, `Abounding I am abounding your seed, and he is not being recorded from an abundance.`601

The same phrase is found in only one other place: “Toward the Woman he has said, `Abounding I am abounding your painful one and your conceiving one, in pain are you bearing builders…” Genesis 3:16 literal The dust are “counted” (Gen. 13:16), the stars are “recorded” (Gen. 15:5), and the seed of Hagar are “not recorded”. |
