Genesis 1:31

And he is seeing elohim אֶת-the whole that he has made, and behold a good one exceedingly. And he is becoming dusk, and he is becoming dawn, hot-one of the Sixth one.53

Hebrew י֥וֹם הַשִּׁשִּֽׁי definite article + sixth. Why does this ordinal include a definite article while the others do not? If this is to be rendered “the Sixth Day” there should be a definite article for “day”, i.e. the day the sixth just as we see in the following verse for the Day of the Seventh, בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י Because there is not, the most proper rendering would be day of the Sixth-one. The emphasis is on a specific “sixth” thing.
