John 1:1

The Word was toward the Theos and Theos was the word. This is the exact order of the words. The nouns “theos” and “word” are in the nominative and thus there is no indication that the order should be backwards, i.e. “the word was God.”

There is nuance and reason for the absence of the definite article on the second instance of "God": "the God and God" as opposed to "the God and the God". See Matthew 1:1 geneology of the names...
