John 3:16

Οὕτω γὰρ ἠγάπησεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸν κόσμον, ὥστε τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ τὸν μονογενῆ ἔδωκεν, ἵνα πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων εἰς αὐτὸν μὴ ἀπόληται, ἀλλ᾽ ἔχῃ ζωὴν αἰώνιον.

For thus God loved Himself

For thus the God agape-loved the Order, wherefore he gave the Only-kind/Begotten Son, so that the whole of the One Who Trusts into himself, might not be destroyed away, but hold an eternal zoe-life.

Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that every one believing in him perish not, but have eternal life.
