Behold the First of Yourself
This one is across from51b whom myself has spoken, "Behind myself is coming52 a man who in front of myself has become, because first of myself he was.53This is He about whom I said, After me comes a Man who has been before me, for He was preceding me.
This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’
Footnotes
51b | Greek #5228 ὑπέρ. huper. Over, beyond, on the other side, across from. A spatial preposition. The figurative uses might be "for the benefit," "for the sake of," but figurative use is conjecture, speculation, and based on what one perceives the context to be. It is found in John in the genitive case which would give the meaning "across from". The translations "for the sake of" or "extending benefit to" seem rather contrary to a genitive case and should rather have a dative case. In other places it is found taking an accusative which would give it the meaning of "beyond." |
52 | To understand the enigma you must know the truth about the flow and direction of time. These are two aspects of time that act like a river flowing in a circuit. Then you must realize where you yourself are within the flow, and what direction you are facing. |
53 | This won’t make sense until you figure out the picture-riddle of Jacob crossing over first, facing his household, and Joseph, the coming one, last, at the hind of the whole. Genesis 33. |
