RBT Hebrew Literal:
The Word Becoming Flesh
And within the Offering Prayers of Himself, the Form of the Face of himself became another one, and the Attire of himself white, he who is flashing forth lightening.30Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And it was in his praying, the look of his face was another, and his clothing white, shooting forth lightning.
And it was in his praying, the look of his face was another, and his clothing white, shooting forth lightning.
LITV Translation:
And in His praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing was dazzling white.
And in His praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing was dazzling white.

Footnotes
30 | ἕτερον does not inherently mean "changing," "altered," or "become different" in the dynamic sense. According to LSJ, ἕτερος (of which ἕτερον is the neuter singular form) primarily denotes "other," "another," or "different" in a static, descriptive sense. It simply identifies something as distinct from what is already mentioned, without implying an ongoing process of change or transformation. We didn't see any translations that did not tamper with this word, except for Julia Smiths: And it was in his praying, the look of his face was another, and his clothing white, shooting forth lightning. (Luke 9:29 Smith Literal, emp. add.) Furthermore, all except Smith's and the NIV seemed to have changed the word "flash lighting" to "dazzling" |
