RBT Hebrew Literal:
He is resembling a man who is home-building a house, whosoever dug and made deep, and set a foundation-stone upon the Rock Cliff. And of her who has become of a flood, the River broke out toward the House, that one, and he was not strong enough to shake herself, because of herself having been built beautifully.
καλός - beautifully, fine quality, honorably
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
He is like to a man building a house, who digged, and deepened, and set the foundation upon the rock: and there having been an overflow, the river dashed against that house, and was not able to move it: for it was founded upon the rock. 49And he having heard, and not having done, is like a man having built a house upon the earth, without a foundation; against which the river dashed, and immediately it fell; and the breaking of that house was great.
LITV Translation:
He is like a man building a house, who dug and deepened, and laid a foundation on the rock. And a flood having occurred, the stream burst against that house and could not shake it, for it had been founded on the rock.
ESV Translation:
he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
