Chapter 5
Luke 5:36

RBT Hebrew Literal:
ἐπίβλημα - Coverlet, Bedspread, Tapestry, Lid
And he was also speaking a comparison toward themselves that no one who has split a coverlet away from a new outer garment casts upon an old outer garment, otherwise the New he will split and the Coverlet will not agree with the Old, the one away from the New.Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And he also spake to them a parable; That none put a piece of new garment, upon an old garment; and if not so, the new also splits, and the piece from the new agrees not with the old.
And he also spake to them a parable; That none put a piece of new garment, upon an old garment; and if not so, the new also splits, and the piece from the new agrees not with the old.
LITV Translation:
And He also told a parable to them: No one puts a piece of a new garment on an old garment; otherwise both the new will tear, and the old does not match the piece from the new.
And He also told a parable to them: No one puts a piece of a new garment on an old garment; otherwise both the new will tear, and the old does not match the piece from the new.
