Luke 9:14

Footnote:

28

κλισία in the phrase Κατακλίνατε κλισίας most likely refers to huts, wooden barracks, or soldier's tents (Iliad 9.663; Odyssey 8.501). Thus, the phrase means: "Lie down in your camp huts!" or "Recline in your tents!" This would be a military or maritime command, telling soldiers or sailors to go rest in their shelters. It aligns with the use of κλισία in Homeric and classical military contexts, where warriors lived in temporary wooden huts near their ships.
