Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And they will take Jeremiah and send him to the pit of Malchiah son of the king which was in the enclosure of the prison: and they will cast Jeremiah with cords, and in the pit no water but mud: and Jeremiah will sink in the mud.
LITV Translation:
And they took and threw him into the pit of Malchiah, the king's son, which was in the court of the guardhouse. And they let down with ropes. But no water was in the pit, only mud. So sank into the mud.
ESV Translation:
So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down by ropes. And there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.
Brenton Septuagint Translation:
For it is a day when those that plead on the mountains of Ephraim shall call, saying, Arise ye, and go up to Zion to the Lord your God.
