RBT Hebrew Literal:
If anyone is thinking to be religious, he who is not guiding with bit and bridle the Tongue of himself, but instead he who is fraudulently tricking a heart of himself, the Religion of this one, is aimless/vain!
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
If any among you seem to be religious, bridling not his tongue, but deceiving his heart, the religion of this one vain. 27Religion pure and unpolluted before God and the Father is this, To take a view of the orphans and widows in their pressure, to keep himself free from stain from the world.
If any among you seem to be religious, bridling not his tongue, but deceiving his heart, the religion of this one vain. 27Religion pure and unpolluted before God and the Father is this, To take a view of the orphans and widows in their pressure, to keep himself free from stain from the world.
LITV Translation:
If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, this one's religion is vain.
If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, this one's religion is vain.
ESV Translation:
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless.
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless.
